What is Phaco?
Phacoemulsification is a blade-less cataract surgery where an ultrasound probe is used to break up the cloudy lens (cataract) into tiny pieces. These fragments are then gently suctioned out of the eye. A clear artificial lens (called an intraocular lens – IOL) is then implanted in place of the natural lens.
What's Your Speciality
At Devisha Netra Chikitsalaya, we offer various Phaco (Phacoemulsification) techniques, each customized to the patient’s eye condition, lifestyle, and visual needs.
Standard Phaco Surgery (with Monofocal IOL)
Uses basic intraocular lens (IOL) that provides clear distance vision.
Reading glasses may still be required after surgery.
Ideal for patients looking for safe, budget-friendly cataract removal.
Phaco with Multifocal IOL
Advanced IOLs that correct both near and far vision.
Reduces or eliminates the need for glasses after surgery.
Great option for active individuals who prefer glasses-free life.
Phaco with Toric IOL
Specially designed for patients with astigmatism.
Corrects both cataract and cylindrical power in one surgery.
Offers sharp, clear vision without the need for additional correction.
Micro Phaco Surgery (MICS – Micro Incision Cataract Surgery)
Uses ultra-small incisions (as small as 1.8 mm).
Faster healing, less risk of infection, and improved outcomes.
Preferred for patients who want quicker recovery and minimal discomfort.
If you’re experiencing any of the following signs, it could be due to a cataract—a condition where the eye’s natural lens becomes cloudy—and Phaco Surgery might be the best solution:
Common Symptoms of Cataract:
Blurry or Cloudy Vision
Everyday objects may appear foggy or less sharp.Glare and Halos
Trouble seeing at night, with bright lights causing glare or halos around them.Faded Colors
Colors may appear dull or yellowish over time.Double Vision in One Eye
Seeing two images with one eye can be a cataract warning sign.Frequent Prescription Changes
You may need to change your glasses or contact lenses more often.Difficulty with Night Vision
Driving or walking at night becomes challenging.Sensitivity to Light
Bright sunlight or headlights may cause discomfort or pain.
Aging
The most common cause. As we grow older, the proteins in the eye’s lens begin to break down and form cloudy patches.
Genetics
Some people are more likely to develop cataracts due to family history.
Medical Conditions
Diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity can accelerate cataract development.
Long-term Use of Medications
Certain medications, especially steroids, may increase the risk of cataracts over time.
Excessive UV Exposure
Prolonged exposure to sunlight without eye protection can damage the lens.
Eye Injuries or Surgeries
Previous trauma or surgeries can lead to secondary cataracts.
Smoking & Alcohol
Both habits increase oxidative stress in the eyes, speeding up cataract formation.
Benefits of Phaco Cataract Surgery
Phacoemulsification, or Phaco Surgery, is the most modern and effective way to treat cataracts. At Devisha Netra Chikitsalaya, we use cutting-edge phaco machines and premium IOLs to restore your vision with minimal discomfort and fast recovery.
